What do we mean by "sustainability" for the showcase and awards?

Sustainability comes in many forms. For the UW-Green Bay Sustainability Office, it’s about the intersection between thriving and resilient ecosystems (Planet), human communities (People), and economic systems (Prosperity) that support wellbeing of diverse species (the “3 Ps”).

As the United Nations (UN) defines it, it's about meeting people’s needs now without compromising future generations' ability to meet their needs. The U.N. outlined 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that serve as a guide.

For our awards, the holistic “3 Ps” and the more specific U.N. SDGs will guide what may be considered as supporting “sustainability”.
Nominations will be considered for those who advance 1 dimension of sustainability, but preference will go toward nominees whose influence spans multiple dimensions.
